Josh Gad to Replace Tony Winner Dan Fogler in Spelling Bee

Tony winner Dan Fogler will play his final performance in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on January 29. Broadway newcomer Josh Gad will begin performances as William Barfee, owner of the magic foot, on January 31.

A recent graduate of the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, Gad is a student of The Groundlings improvisational troupe and a proud founder/member of The Lost Nomads Comedy Troupe. Theatrical credits include mountings of All in the Timing, The Crucible, Skin of Our Teeth, Axis of E… and Roberto Zucco.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will continue to star Celia Keenan-Bolger, Derrick Baskin, Deborah S. Craig, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Lisa Howard, Jose Llana, Greg Stuhr and Sarah Saltzberg.
